We understand...

visiting a new church for the first time can leave you feeling a little apprehensive. We trust this information will make your visit with us more comfortable.  Our hope is that your visit to Chinook Baptist Church will be an encouraging and uplifting experience for your whole family.

When you Arrive

An usher will greet you as you enter the building and help you know where to go from there. He will also give you a visitor’s packet containing information about Chinook that we hope you will find helpful. Inside the packet will be a visitor’s card and we would appreciate it if you would take a minute to fill it out and put it in the offering plate so that we may have a record of your visit. If you find you don’t have time to fill it out before the offering, please give it to Pastor or one of the Ushers after the service.

Schedule of Services

Sunday mornings begin at 10:00 AM with everyone (except those in the Nursery) meeting in the Sanctuary. There will be a time of singing and announcements. After the offering is taken, Pastor will dismiss the children and teens for their Sunday School classes which meet in rooms in the back of the church. Bible lessons are planned according to the appropriate age group.

At 11:00 AM our morning worship service begins. The adults and teens meet in the Sanctuary where the main focus of the service is the expository preaching of God’s Word. A Junior Church service for all of the children ages 4-12 is held in the Fellowship Hall during this hour. They will learn a Bible lesson, sing exciting Bible songs, play fun review games, and even enjoy a delicious snack. Junior Church is taught by folks who really love children and have a heart to share the truths of God’s Word with young people.

Our Sunday evening service starts at 5:00 PM. This is a special time for the entire church family to gather together to encourage and edify one another.  Again, there is singing and a time for announcements.  We also enjoy a fun time of Scripture memory and Bible drills. Afterwards, Pastor Miller preaches a practical message to help individuals and families grow in their faith.

The Wednesday night Bible study and prayer meeting begins at 7:00 PM.  We share the needs of our missionaries and church members and then pray together as a church family. After prayer time, Pastor Miller will share a helpful Bible study. The Children’s F.B.I. Club, for children ages 4-10, also meets Wednesday nights during the school year.

Nursery

A beautiful, clean, well-staffed nursery is available for infants and toddlers up to 3 years old. Parents can rest assured that their child will be well cared for during the service. When you leave your child in the nursery for the first time, we will need you to fill out an information card. We will ask for their name, birth date, any special instructions, any allergies we need to be aware of, and a phone number to text you if there is a problem during the service. The card usually takes 3-4 minutes to complete, so please arrive early enough to fill the card out and be ready for the service on time.

What to Wear

Chinook Baptist Church does not have a dress code for its members or our guests. Our ministry leaders as well as many of our church family wear the traditional “Sunday best.” However, our desire is that you feel welcome and comfortable when you visit Chinook.

Offering

As our guest, please feel no obligation to participate in the offering. The offering is for our members and regular attenders who want to give to the ministry. We would, however, appreciate it if you would fill out the visitor’s card and place it in the offering plate so that we may have a record of your visit.
